Zapp's Sour Cream and Onion flavor
You've already heard me talk about Louisiana-based Zapp's potato chips (take their factory tour, seriously) and now I want to share one of their best flavors with you: Sour Cream and Onion.
These are the ones in the blue bag (not to be confused with the Unsalted flavor, which also comes in a blue bag). To me this is the epitome of sour cream/onion goodness. The Lays, Ruffles, etc brands can't compare. Something about the peanut oil really brings out the flavor I think.
One caveat about these is that they're hard to find, especially in larger bags! I've been able to find the snack size at Eatzi's in Dallas, TX, but the larger size eludes me. Even the snack size isn't too easy to find.
There's also a limited-edition Mardi Gras flavor that tastes similar to this, so if you can't find this one you can go ahead and settle for that one and I doubt you'll be disappointed.
