Zapp's Brand Potato Chips
If you've visited the southeast part of the country, no doubt you are familiar with Zapp's. Packaged in Gramercy, LA and known for their interesting and spicy flavors, Zapp's is a staple. Unlike most chips which use vegetable, corn, or sunflower oil, Zapp's uses peanut oil. The chips have a great "kettle-cooked" taste.
They offer a factory tour. Taste a chip right off the line!
Company History
Zapp's is relatively young potato chip company. It was created in 1985 by Ron Zappe, a graduate of Texas A&M.
Zapp's is known for creating the first spicy Cajun-flavored chip, which was actually it's flagship product.
Unfortunately, Mr. Zappe is dead. The company is now owned by Utz Quality Foods.
